Manipur government greets people on Cheiraoba


Imphal: Manipur governor La Ganesan on Thursday greeted the people of Manipur on the ocassion of “Sajibu Nongmapanba Cheiraoba” — Manipuri New Year’s Day, 2022.

This year the Cheiraoba falls on April 2, Saturday.

New Year is an occasion for the people to rejoice and look forward to the future with hope. It is time for making resolutions to usher in a year of peace and harmony in the state, Ganesan said.

“I also look forward to the New Year as the harbinger for a happy and prosperous life for all the people in the state irrespective of caste, creed or religion. I am hopeful that the advent of the New Year will further cement the bond of friendship among the different communities in the state. On the occasion of Sajibu Nongmapanba, I urge all to rededicate themselves once again to the promotion of peace and harmony in the state for making a better Manipur, the governor said.
