Treasury office accountant arrested for demanding bribes

Imphal: Abdul Hei, senior Aacountant, department of treasuries and accounts, Ggvernment of Manipur posted at Treasury office, Thoubal in connection has been arrested on Wednesday ‘for demanding bribes for passing bills of different government departments by the Treasury office, Thoubal’.

A team of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Manipur arrested the senior accountant in connection with case F.I.R. No. 3(3)2022-V&AC PS registered at Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Police Station, Manipur for demanding bribes for passing bills of different government departments by the Treasury office, Thoubal, said superintendent of Police Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department in a statement released on Thursday.

The accused person has been remanded into police custody till April 5 by the Court of Special Judge (P.C. Act), Thoubal for further investigation by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Police Station, Manipur, the statement said.
