Imphal: Forest and environment minister Thongam Biswajit on Thursday assured to take up necessary measures to conserve the ecological system of Keibul Lamjao National Park.
He made the assurance while meeting at the office quarter of Sanjenthong, Imphal East with campaigner of “We will develop when we know our self” who also a managing trustee “Sangai Trust Foundation, Keibul Lamjao”, Salam Prasanta Singh.
During the meeting Prasanta made a memorandum to the minister to improve sustainable agriculture; to solve the impact of climate change in agriculture sector, farm sector; for proper implementation of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana in Manipur; PM Kishan Credit Card beneficiaries; to implement national action plan on climate change; and to take necessary step in order to conserve state animal, ‘Sangai’.
Prasanta tabled a demand to make more effective of “Species Recovery Programme” conducted by the forest department in collaboration with Wildlife Institute of India.
Biswajit assured that necessary action will be taken in connection with the memorandum at the earliest.
