Biren warns drug dealers to surrender

Imphal: “Anyone involving in drug business will not be tolerated. For those who are still involving in drug business, let me assure you, it’s never too late to surrender,” chief minister N. Biren Singh said on Friday.

He said stringently countering the drugs menace, the Churachandpur district police, intercepted a white colour Bolero car and detected a plastic packet, suspected to be opium weighing 6.285 kg along with Rs 2.6 lakh in cash.

The persons who were carrying these items were identified Hoikim Suante, 40, and Seikhohao Guite, 42 of Churachandpur district.

On further investigation, another 950 gm of suspected opium, Rs 5 lakh cash and a weighing machine were recovered from the house of Hoikim.
