DESAM detains around 25 students for mass copying in examination

Imphal: Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) detained around 25 students of Sagolmang Higher Secondary School for mass copying on the first day of ongoing Class XI examination of Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur.

Assistant secretary general of the student body, Thoithoiba Nongthombam told reporters here on Sunday that a video clip went viral showing mass copying during examination on April 8. In connection with the video, around 25 students of Sagolmang Higher Secondary school, Imphal East including invigilator and other authority concerned of the school were detained, he added.

Thoithoiba said the authority concerned of Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur should investigate on the matter and should take appropriate action against the invigilator, authority concerned of the school for allowing the students for mass copying.

He said the viral video was made by a student among those students.

Class XI examination began on April 8 and scheduled to conclude on May 6.
