IRB personnel arrested for vehicle theft case, 3 vehicles seized

Imphal: One Indian Reserved Battalion (IRB) personnel presently attached to Thoubal district commando unit was arrested on Wednesday in connection with vehicle theft.
Police seized three stolen vehicles including 2 Alto cars and one scooter (Activa) from his residence.
The arrested person has been identified as one Athokpam Rameshwar Singh, 34, son of A Bira of Thoubal Athokpam Mayai Leikai.
Based on an input, a combined team of Imphal West district police, Anti-Vehicle Theft cell and Thoubal district commando unit rushed to the residence of Rameshwar and searched.
During the operation two Alto cars both silver grey in colour and one scooter (Activa) maroon in colour were seized from his residence.
Registration plates of all the vehicles were found missing. However one alto car have its rear registration number plate bearing number MN01X 0220.
The person has been arrested along with the stolen vehicles by Imphal West district police and a case has been registered at Imphal Police Station for further investigation.
As per identification card of the arrested person it is mentioned that he is an IRB personnel presently attached to Thoubal district commando unit.
