2 drug peddlers apprehended

Imphal: A team of Manipur Police  apprehended two drug peddlers and seized Brown Sugar from their possession at around 11.30 pm on Monday.

The drug peddlers were identified as one Md Shahid Rahaman, 27, son of Md Abdul and Md Sajid Ahamad, 20, son of late Md Rashid Ahamad, both residence of Lilong Usoipokpi Chingol, which fall under the jurisdiction of Thoubal Police station.

The police team under the supervision of superintendent of police, Thoubal district during routine frisking and checking detained the two persons while coming in a two wheeler (Yamaha FZ) bearing registration number MN01 R9324, black in colour along the national highway (Imphal-Moreh).

Two soap cases containing Brown sugar weighing approximately 25 gm in total were detected.

The seizures along with the arrested person were handed over to concern police station for further necessary legal action, police said.
