ATM robber fined with pig, wine; villagers decide to expel him from village

Imphal: Boy who attempted to rob ATM booth at Langjing Bazaar on Thursday morning has decided to expel from Longa Koireng village and finned 1 well build pigs and a pot of wine.

The Longa Koireng village chief S.R. Sosan Koireng and secretary of Longa Koireng Village Authority W. Khelsong Koireng in a press note released on Friday said the youth, L. Choungmirem Koireng, 19, who was arrested by state police for attempting to rob ATM booth by breaking its door is boy who roams here and there.

For his conduct of robbery the villagers of Longa immediately decided to expel from the village and imposed customary penalty of 5 pigs and wine, to feast villagers.
