BJP’s promises 7.5 lakh jobs to youths was to get political mileage: MPCC


Imphal: The promise of present BJP led government to provide jobs to 7.5 lakh youths was made to get political mileage and in the last five years the BJP led government has been unable to declare the result of IRB recruitment, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, president, K. Meghachandra on Saturday.

Meghachandra said this on the sideline of “Sajibu Tha-gi Aroiba Ushil” held at the shrine of Kongba Maru Laipham.

He said the present and past BJP led government has been making false promise to provide job to the people. In order to take political mileage the present and past government launched start up programme in the name to provide job and to promote young entrepreneurs.

While the government has been making false promise to the youths, a bank rejected to provide loan to one of a start-up beneficiary of Kakching district. The government who is shouting at various platform that they will provide job to all the young entrepreneurs has been failing to take any necessary steps against those banks that are not providing loan to start-up beneficiaries, the Congress leader said.

Meghachandra alleged that the present government of making false promise to get political mileage.

He said in most of the hilly areas the practice of deforestation are still continuing and many farmers are adopting illegal poppy cultivation. The past and present BJP led government has failed to implement the forest policy. The state government and forest department need to take necessary steps effectively in order bring a drug free Manipur, he added.

As a part of the programme of “Sajibu Tha-gi Aroiba Ushil” a ritual ceremony was followed by a tree plantation programme at Hinaotabi Hiden Kongba Maru.
