CM Biren extends best wishes to nursing fraternity

Imphal: Manipur chief minister N.Biren Singh has extended his best wishes to the nursing fraternity on the occasion of International Nurses Day, on the May 12.
The day marks the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale known as The Lady with the Lamp.
Nurses have been always at the forefront in advocacy on healthcare. Nurses have also been playing a crucial role in educating patients and the public, and in rehabilitation, and providing support. It can be said that few other healthcare professional has such a broad and far-reaching role, Biren said.
During the days, when the whole State was battling the Covid-19 pandemic, nurses were the backbone of the whole medical structure working without taking a break.The commitment and sincerity of nurses in rendering their valuable service to the people during the pandemic was commendable. It is only because of their untiring services, the state has been able to overcome both the first and second waves of the pandemic, he added.
“I am hopeful that with their grit, resilience, and reassuring commitment to the service of humanity, we will be able to overcome every other challenge to human health in the future,” Biren said.
“On the occasion of the International Nurses Day, I join the people of Manipur in expressing our sincere gratitude and in saluting the nursing fraternity. May God bless them with more strength to continue rendering their individual service to humanity,” he added.
