Smart TV for digital classes distributed


Imphal: Education, law and legislative affairs minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh on Wednesday distributed Smart TV for digital classes for some schools in Imphal West district.

The programme was organised by district aministration, Imphal West at Kombirei Hall, DC complex, Imphal West.

Basanta expressed his appreciation to the administration of the Imphal West for conducting such a programme for improvement and implementation of the governmental schemes.

He said that he has started in a speedy manner for the improvement of education system since he took in charge as an education minister.

As education is the backbone of a society, the method of works taken up earlier in the education department may be made with clean intension and mind, he said.

He assured that he will start the method systematically for the improvement of education in the state.

He maintained that for the development of the society, priority will be given to education though it is crucial, critical but it can be solved with proper budget.

With the scheme of the Government of India, like SSA, RMSA, RUSA infrastructures of the schools get better, he said.

Discussion for the improvement and step forward in educational sector has been held with official and experts of the department. The Smart TV given away to some schools by the Imphal West administration is an example of the initiative taken up for starting digital classes that will benefit the students, he added.

He expressed his desire to utilise those fund meant for education with good intension, he added.

The minister said he will visit all the districts to enquire about what preparedness and plans each deputy commissioner has to take for the development in the field of education sector.

“The students of Manipur has big talent; if we train, lead and show the right way, they can do a lot for the development of the state,” he said.

Required infrastructure for educational institutes in the state would be revamped appropriately to provide the best of learning experience for the students, he said. He also informed the benefits and advantages of digital education for which the smart TVs that were distributed for learning to enhance the minds of students.

Basanta assured as a concerned minister of education that he will work with total integrity for the best outcome and all round development in education sector of the state. He suggested that on no school bag day which falls on Saturday, moral lessons about good character, nation building and service to the society must be taught to the students to add quality education.

The minister asked everyone to give suggestions for the betterment of educations system of the state. Minister also said about the need to work from the ground and the maximum complains he got from the people are about the shortage of teachers. Step will be taken up to solved this issue in future, he added.

Deputy commissioner Th. Kiran Kumar highlighted the importance and require infrastructures for the education system during the function.

Yumnam Huidrom High School, Kumari High School, Samusang Santipur UPS, Lilong Higher Secondary School, Hindi Higher Secondary School, S.K Ideal Higher School, Keisamthong High School and Lamdeng High School were handed over  Smart TV for digital classes.
