GPS enabled dedicated Highway Patrol launched in Senapati, Kangokpi

Imphal: In an effort to further secure the National Highway-2, the lifeline of Manipur state, for the first time in Manipur GPS enabled dedicated Highway Patrol consisting of eight vehicles was flagged off by Manipur DGP P. Doungel, at Senapati on Friday.
All eight vehicles are equipped with GPS and Wireless Communication sets and can be reached by dialling 112 and PCR no. 8798198810 (SPT) and 9362153322 ( KPI).
These vehicles will cover the stretch of NH-2 from Mao, Senapati to Gamgiphai, Kangpokpi District. Each vehicle will cover a distance of 10-12 km. The Highway patrol will also act as the first responders to any crime or distress along the highway.

IGP (R-IV); Jhalajit, AD MPTC; Amrita Sinha, SP, Kangpokpi district; Karthik Malladi, SP, Senapati district; Mahesh Choudhary, DC Senapati; Ghanashyam Sharma, AD MPTC; Megachandra Singh, SP-NAB; and Chiphang Cecelia Sopemla, SP, CMTW, Imphal were present in the launching function.
