Minister Khemchand inspects Churachandpur road maintenance work


Imphal: Rural developmental and Panchayati Raj minister Yumnam Khemchand inspected the road maintenance work of Hengkot to Boljang road and Ukhatampak to Gothol road, Churachandpur district on Saturday.

The minister made his visit in the district as a part of the developmental activities taken by the present government under “100 days Programme”.

Khemchand said, he has received a report that maintenance work of Hengkot to Boljang road and Ukhatampak to Gothol road is going to complete and he visited there to monitor the road condition.

He said the maintenance work is taken under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and the government is targeting to complete the maintenance work within the 100 days programme of the new BJP led coalition government.

Manipur faces rain about 4-5 months in a year and due to this repairing of road cannot be done fast, he said.

However, he said, he will advice the implementing agency to complete maintenance of the remaining part of the road after the rainy season.

He said maintenance work in valley has also started.

MLAs LM Khaute, Letzanang Haokip, Paolenlang Haokip and Vungajin Valte accompanied the minister during the visit.
