Talented music students felicitated

Imphal: The Lalit Kala Sangam Music Institute, Loklabung on Saturday felicitated four talented students of different fields of music who secured highest mark bagging rank at the annual examination conducted by the Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh for the year 2020.

A simple function was held at its complex at Loklabung this morning and felicitated the talented students who appeared the examination from the institute.

Chairman of the Lalit Kala Sangam Music Institute professor K.Saratchandra Singh (donner), Khuraijam Sharat Singh (life member) and Yensembam Bilashini Devi (donner) of the institute graced the simple function as presidum members.

The four students were Rajkumari Ruby Devi of Uripok Ningthoukhongjam Leikai who secured  rank one in Violin in Kovid II final examination, Chungkham Sangita Devi from Thongju part II who stood first position in vocal in Kovid II, Thokchom Sangita Devi of Lamdeng Khunou Lamsang who bagged second position also in vocal and Laishram Sornalata Devi third position holder were honoured with  cash award and K. Surbala Devi merit certificate.

Saratchandra stressed on the importance of performing arts in the present day situation among the young generation and assured all possible assistance from his side towards the development of Lalit Kala Sangam and for the development of music in the state.

As part of the function Th. Tilakchand Singh, K. Nongyai and Kh. Noren presented lecture demonstration on Tabla, on Guitar and on vocal respectively.
