13,400 bottles cough syrup recovered from smugglers in Manipur 

Imphal: As War on Drugs of N. Biren Singh’s government continues, Imphal East Police in an operation at Naharup Thongkhong, apprehended two smugglers and recovered 13, 400 bottles of cough syrup recovered on Saturday.

The smugglers were identified as Md. Zaved Akter of Porompat Pangal Leirak and Md. Zaved Kalam of Kshetri Bengoon Makha Leikai.

During the operation, the Imphal East Police have recovered 134 boxes containing the cough syrup with, one double barrel gun loaded with two live rounds, one flag post bearing vehicle (Gypsy), two cars, a laptop and a printer from their possession.

Chief minister Biren said the evils who are trying to harm the society will given befitting punishment.
