One drug peddler nabbed with Heroin

Imphal: ​Keithelmanbi battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) in a joint operation with Manipur Police foiled narcotics smuggling in Churachanpur district on Sunday.

Based on specific input provided by Assam Rifles, a joint operation was launched with Manipur Police which led to apprehension of one drug peddler along with 692 grams of Heroin concealed in 17 soap cases in Village Chairen, Churachanpur district,  the Assam Rifles said on Monday.

The seized narcotics were assessed to be worth over Rs 3 crore in International market, it added.

The recovered items along with the peddler were handed over to Kumbi Police station for further investigation.
