Thangjing Hill controversy resolved

Imphal: The Committee on Protection and Preservation of Historical Rights of Koubru and Thangjing Hill Range (CPPKT) and Kuki Students’ Organisation (KS0), Henglep Block and Churachandpur has revoked their controversial statements on Thangjing Hill range.

Their statements were withdrawn after clearing all the misunderstanding during a meeting chaired by Manipur DGP in presence of the representatives of CPPKT and KSO on Monday morning at the DGP office.

On May 5, the KSO, Henglep Block had issued a statement which restricted entry at the Thangjing Hill range by outsiders without taking permission from the concerned village chief. Countering the statement, the CPPKT on May 20 imposed restrictions on the locals of Thangjing hills from entering the valley area.

He appealed to all sections of the people to not try to wrongly interpret the history of the state.
