Manipur employees observe National Demands Day

Imphal: Employees under the umbrella of All India State Government Employees’ Federation (AISGEF), Manipur Government Services’ Federation (MGSF) and Manipur Secretariat Services’ Association (MSSA) on Friday observed National Demands’ Day by staging a sit-in at various departments including Manipur secretariat office demanding to fulfil 11 points demands for the welfare of employees.
President of MSSA, Purujit Lairikyengbam told reporters that the employees are also demonstrating supporting National Demands Day that has been observing across the nation for two consecutive days.
The 11 points demands included to scrap National Pension Scheme (NPS) and restore old pension system, release of all DA doses, fill up all regular vacancies through statutory recruitment boards, establish subordinate service recruitment board and police recruitment board; fill up all promotional vacancies, settle all anomaly issues including that of school teachers; extend the benefit of 7th pay revision to employees of grant-in-aid bodies, to stop rampant extension of services in all department; no contract appointment against regular vacancies, release all due benefits of the pensioners and avail service benefits to all work charged employees as per rules.
Similar demonstration were also conducted at different departments.
The demonstration took place during the lunch hour, after which employees resumed to their duties.
