Minister Kasim visits pony homes


Imphal: Veterinary and animal husbandry minister Kasim Vasum on Wednesday visited Marjing Pony Complex at Pangei, Imphal East, Manipur and campus of Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association, Lamphelpat, Imphal West.

In the last few months many incidents had been occurred on Manipuri ponies due to loitering in streets. Manipuri ponies are found on streets due to the lack of its grazing fields which usually found during the rainy season.

To set up the infrastructure for pony farms and their grazing fields the minister and his officials of veterinary and animal husbandry visited the two sites.

Director, veterinary and animal husbandry, Ng. Ibotombi Singh appealed to the people of Manipur to take proper care of their animals and not to let loose them from their respective sheds or compound so as to avoid any unintended consequences to the public.
