About 9 kg opium, Rs 2, 81, 900 recovered from Manipur’s Thoubal

Imphal: Based on intelligence input provided by Keithelmanbi Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South), Manipur Police launched a search operation and recovered 8.9kg opium and cash of Rs 2,81,900 from a drug peddler in village Salampatong, Thoubal district on Friday.

The seized narcotics were assessed to be worth over Rs 5.34 lakh.

The recovered items along with the drug peddler were handed over to Nongpok Police station for further investigation, the Assam Rifles said.
