Assam Rifles conducts lectures on career in armed forces, ill effects of drug abuse

Imphal: Loktak battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted a motivational lecture on career in armed forces and ill effects of drug abuse for local youths at Komlakhong village, Imphal West district on Friday.

The local students of the region were briefed about the nuances of the procedure for joining the Indian Armed Forces including physical and academic requirements and the selection process for various types of entries in the armed forces. They were also briefed about the social, mental, physical and psychological effects of drug abuse.

The lecture was followed by an interactive session in which queries raised by the youths were answered. They were guided and encouraged to aim for future recruitment rallies and UPSC exams to join armed forces as an officer, the paramilitary force said.
