Heroin dealer lady nabbed in Manipur


Imphal: A ream of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) police on Wednesday nabbed one lady drug dealer from Kwakta in Bishnupur district of Manipur.

The lady fell in the NAB hand when its team conducted a surprise checking of suspected persons at Kwakta and neighbouring areas as a part of state government’s War on Drugs mission.

The lady was identified as Lhingneikim alias Kimneo Kipgen, 30, wife of Letkholal alias Lalboi Khongsai of Lhanghoi Veng, under Churchandpur Police jurisdiction.

She was arrested from a place near Kwakta Bazar at 3:30 pm with the recovery and seizure of 50 soap cases containing suspected Heroin Powder weighing about 651 gm, a police report said.

The value at local market will be about Rs 13 lakh, it added.

“The drugs came from Moreh (Indo-Myanmar border town) and delivered to another person in Churachandpur. The arrested person collected the drugs from Churachandpur to deliver at Kwakta area,” the police report said.

In this regards, a case has been registered at NAB Police station for further investigation, it added.
