GOC-in-chief Eastern Command visits Manipur

Imphal: Lieutenant general R P Kalita, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, general officer Commanding-in-chief, Eastern Command visited Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles(South) on Wednesday.

During the visit the Army commander was briefed in detail by various commanders on ground about the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness. The general officer expressed his satisfaction on the  security measures and operational preparedness of the security forces. He complimented the troops of the Assam Rifles for carrying out a commendable job with regards to efficiently managing the security situation in the state.

The Eastern Army commander accompanied by general officer commanding, Spear Corps and IG Assam Rifles (South) met the governor and chief minister of Manipur.

The general officer apprised the governor and chief minister of the actions being taken by the security forces in coordination with other agencies, towards maintenance of peace and security in the state.

The governor and chief  inister appreciated the untiring efforts of the forces in difficult conditions and complimented them for carrying out people friendly operations.
