Manipur VDF involves to nab 3 women drug peddlers, seizes over 2 kg Herion

Imphal: Manipur Village Defence Force ( VDF) of Manipur police has involved in seizing 2.238 kg of Heroin powder and apprehended three women drug peddlers at Laimaton VDF post in Bishnupur district, on Tuesday.

The apprehended drug smugglers were identified as one Zemboi, 26, wife of Thangboi Kuki; Kim Mary Kilong, 22, wife of Kaigin; and Neineng Lengthang, 35, wife of Chungkham Lenthang all from Muktokhal, Tousem, Tamenglong district.

According to a police report, a police team led by sub-inspector T. Joykumar Singh of Bishnnupur police station and head constable Gama of Laimaton VDF post under the supervision of superintendent of police, Bishnupur district, conducted frisking and checking at the VDF post.

The police team along with women police personnel intercepted a maroon vehicle (tata Sumo). During verification the police team detected 43 soap cases containing suspected Heroin powder weighing approximately 2.238 kg in three improvised waist bags concealed inside their clothes, the police report said.

The Heroin powder were seized and arrested the three women drug peddlers. The seized items and arrested persons were handed over to Loktak Police station, it added.
