Biren rewards Tengnoupal Police, Thoubal Police with cash


Imphal: In recognition of massive seizures of drugs by Tengnoupal Police and Thoubal Police which include busting of a brown sugar factory in Moijing Mina Bazar, a cash reward of Rs 7 lakh and Rs 8 lakh have been awarded to Tengnoupal Police and Thoubal Police respectively.

Chief minister N. Biren Singh handed over the rewards on Monday, here.

“Under War on Drugs 2.0, Tengnoupal Police have seized drugs worth over Rs 127 crore. On the other hand, Thoubal Police have recently busted a brown sugar factory from Moijing Mina Bazar along with 222.5 kg of brown sugar and other items used in producing brown sugar,” Biren  said.

Thoubal District Police busted the Brown Sugar factory at the residence of a lady in Moijing Mina Bazar in Manipur’s Thoubal district on June 14 and arrested the lady.

The rewards were handed over to the respective officers and personnel of both the districts police in presence of DGP P. Doungel and ADGP Clay Khongsai.
