International Day of Yoga observed at Manipur Raj Bhavan

Imphal:  As a part of the observance of the 8th International Day of Yoga, the day was observed at Raj Bhavan in Imphal on Tuesday.

June 21 also called summer solstice, the longest day in the year is observed as International Day of Yoga throughout the world. The theme of this year’s International Day of Yoga is ‘Yoga for humanity’.

Governor of Manipur La.Ganesan practiced Yoga at the session held at the Durbar Hall along with an enthusiastic Raj Bhavan secretariat staff and security personnel.

Speaking at the gathering the governor highlighted the various benefits of practicing Yoga daily. He enumerated on the benefits of breathing techniques and the regular practice of yoga’s importance in reducing stress, tension  and overall maintenance of a healthy life.

He appealed to all the people to inculcate the habits of practicing yoga in the days to come.
