Woman nabbed with 174 cough syrup

Imphal: One 60 years old woman who was possessing smuggled cough syrup was apprehended by a team of Imphal East Police commando unit on Friday from Kshetrigao Mayai Leikai near an auto-rickshaw parking area.

The woman was identified as Yumkhaibam Sherabhanu, daughter of late Jouruddin of Kshetrigao Mayai Leikai, Imphal-East district.

She fall in the hands of a police commando and women police team during a random frisking and checking to the suspected passersby conducted at Kshetrigao Mayai Leikai in the morning.

A total of 174 Cough Syrup bottles were recovered from her  possessions.

The accused person and the seized Cough Syrup were being handed over to Porompat Police station for taking further necessary legal action her, a police report said.
