Stop bomb blasts at residential areas: people

Imphal: Denouncing the bomb blast that triggered at Tera Sapam Leirak in Imphal West near the residential gate of Agriculture director N. Gojendro Singh on Friday, people of the locality demonstrated a sit-in at their community hall on Saturday.
The bomb suspected to be an improvised explosive device exploded at around 9: 20 pm. It brought no human casualty.
“At that moment two girls and a child were on the road near the blast site. Fortunately, no one was injured. Who will bear responsibility if there were casualty,” president of New Era Women Association of Tera Sapam Leirak Nongmaithem Leikai, Shamurailatpam Gyaneshori Devi said.
“Stop bomb attacks at residential area.” “If there is any grudge or misunderstanding or any want, negotiate peacefully instead of blasting bomb at residential area,” she urged to the individual or group who triggerd the blast.
The people’s protest was organised by New Era Women Association, Tera Keithel Women Association, The Youth Bright Star Club and Nongmaithem Leikai Singlup. It demonstrated under a banner, “Strongly condemn against the bomb blast at the residence of Ningthoujam Gojendro Singh…”
“Such incidences has started occuring in the state while as chief minister Biren Singh claims the law and order in the state has improved,” the protester said and drew the attention of the chief minister.
On June 19, in the evening, a bomb went off at the residential gate of one Hijam Ibungo of congested Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai, which was condemned by the locality.
