Immediate clarification sought against bomb attack

Imphal:  People of Khabam Maning Leikai has urged to those who are responsible for the bomb attack carried at the residence of Pangeijam Gojendro Singh to clarify immediately.

President of Yaipha Sindam Naharol Club, Yenkokpam Romen told reporters at a sit-in staged at the community hall of Khabam Maning Leikai, Imphal East on Monday that the club and Meira Paibee of the area strongly condemn the bomb attack at residential area.

He said on Sunday at around 10 pm one bomb was exploded at the residence of settlement director Gojendro who is also in-charge director of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and chairman of Anti-Corruption Cell.

Gojendro’s daughter was injured by broken piece of glass window pane.

The unknown miscreants hurled the bomb without considering who could be injured. Who is going to bear the responsibility if any innocent was injured at the blast? The club president said.

Romen said, according to Gojendro, an extortion demand of Rs 50 lakh was made to the settlement department by some organisations. The monetary demand is made at the department not at director himself and what is the reason to attack the director personally.

He appealed to those who triggered the blast  to clarify to the public immediately.
