Two PREPAK active members arrested

Imphal: A team of Imphal East district police commando on Tuesday arrested two active members of proscribed underground outfit PREPAK during frisking and checking at Porompat DC road.

The arrested persons were identified as one Yengkhom Somendro Singh, 53, son of late Y. Iboton Singh and Ngathem Boby Singh alias Naobi, 36, son of Ng Biramangol Singh both from Chanam Sandrok Makha Leikai.

The police commando team conducted random frisking and checking of suspected passer-by at Porompat on front of Imphal East DC complex in the afternoon. During the activity Somendro and Boby were detained.

They revealed their identity that they are the active members of the proscribed outfit. They disclosed that they joined the outfit through one Ibochouba of Keirao Litan Makhong, Imphal East district in 2010 and presently they are working under his command, a police report said.

They also disclosed that they had recruited one Keisham Nilachandra Singh of Sandrok Makha Leikai, Imphal East to join the outfit on the advice and instruction of Ibomcha in 2010 and handed over to one unknown person at Moreh.

Both of them were arrested at the spot and handed over to Porompat Police station for necessary legal action, the police report said.
