Large quantity liquor seized in Manipur, two nabbed

Imphal: A team of Imphal East Police of Manipur on Wednesday seized large quantity of foreign liquor from a truck at Khurai Lamlong in Imphal East.

The police team in reserve line was conducting random frisking and checking at Lamlong bridge area when the truck came. The truck was moving from Pangel road towards Lamlong bridge.

The team of reserv line, led by head constable M. Heman Singh along with three VDF volunteers N. Anil Singh, AK. Raju Meitei and Y. Borish Singh, was conducting random frisking and checking at Lamlong bridge area when the truck came. The truck was moving from Pangei road towards Lamlong bridge.

Yumnam Johnson Singh, 26, sonof late Joybabu of Khonghampat Mayal Leikai, at present residing at Khurai Thangjam Leirak and Chandrama Sah, 30, son of Suraj Sah of Ramnagar, Husepur, Gopalganj, Bhore, Bihar, presently residing at Major Khul, Thangal Bazaar who possessed the liquors were arrested, a police report said.

The accused persons along with the seized articles were handed over Excise Police station, Porompat, Imphal East.
