Huge quantity of drugs seized in Manipur

Imphal: Teams of Manipur’s Imphal East district police on Thursday seized large quantity of cough syrups and spasmo proxyvon capsules from a residence in imphal East.

The seizure came to effect when the police teams including a special team acted on an information on Wednesday 10 pm that a huge consignment of drug was kept concealed.

The teams searched residence of one Md Boi, 28, son of Md Amu of Naharup Pangong Makhong , Imphal East at 1 am of Thursday.

All procedures such as search authorisation, presence of magistrate and witnesses adhered to, a police report said.

During the search a total of 4440 Anrex CP cough syrup 100ml in 37 boxes, each box containing 120 bottles; 3700 bottles of Rukscof cough syrup 100 ml in 37 boxes (each box contains 100 bottles), altogether 3700 bottles;  and 2,60,064 Span-Prx + Capsules in 12 boxes (10836 strips, each strip contains 24 capsules.)

One Redmi Smartphone silver colour with one vodafone sim card was also seized.

Md Boi was arrested. He along with the seized items have been handed over to Irilbung PS for further necessary legal action, the police report said.
