KLA cadre nabbed with Heroin No.4


Imphal: One Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) cadre was nabbed by a team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) with Heroin No.4 powder at Kwakta area in Bishnupur district of Manipur on Wednesday.

The KLA drug dealer was Lhunthanglen Touthang, 40, son of late Thongpao Taothang, resident of L. Chalmol Village, Chakpikarong sub-division, Chandel dstrict, at present residing at Vajing village, Churachandpur district.

He fell in the hands of the NAB during a surprise checking of suspected vehicles at Kwakta area.

A total of 110 numbers of soap cases containing the Heroin powder were found at the rear seat of one Maruti Suzuki Swift car bearing registration number AS 01 DP/ 7348. It weighed around 1.375 kg, a police report said on Thursday.

He was apprehended from the Northern side of Kwakta Bazar.

The drug and the car were seized along with a mobile phone handset.

Preliminary spot investigation revealed that the arrested person is a cadre of KLA which is under Suspension of operation. He is presently serving as Defence PRO for the organization he stated. A case has been registered with NAB Police station for investigation, the report said.
