Three drug peddlers arrested

Imphal: Kakching Police of Manipur on Thursday arrested three drug dealers, including a lady, who were ferrying Heroin No.4 powder concealed in the fuel tank of a vehicle.

The car bearing registration number AR03-3555 was travelling from Pallel side towards the Leimanai Chingjin police commando check-post where it was stopped by teams of Kakching Police.

The driver and the occupants of the vehicle were detained for verification. They were identified as Paominlal Misao, 20, son of Thangjang Misao of T. Tonglhang, S.Khudengthabi, Moreh,Tengnoupal district; Lhunkhopao Baite, 33, son of Tongkhoson Baite of Moreh, H.Wanomjang village,Tengnoupal district; and Lamkholhing, 61, wife of Onkhongam of HT. Gamnomphai village, Moreh, Tengnoupal district.

The detained persons along with the said vehicle were searched after observing legal formalities. From the vehicle, 55 soap cases containing Heroin No.4 powder were detected concealed in the modified fuel tank of the vehicle. The drug was found to weigh about 689 gm (in total).

The driver of vehicle and its occupants were arrested by observing all formalities, a police report said.

The arrested persons along with the seized articles were taken to,Kakching Police station for taking up further necessary legal action.
