State Shiv Sena to launch agitation over fertilizers issue, condoles on Tupul landslide incident


Imphal: President of Shiv Sena Manipur state unit, M. Tombi cautioned the state government to solve the fertilizer issue at the earliest before state Shiv Sena launch agitation in support of farmers of Manipur.

Tombi told reporters here on Friday that the state government has been taking various steps to prevent the issue on fertilizer scarcity to farmers. However, farmers face the fertilizer shortage problem.

He appealed the state government to solve the issue before state Shiv Sena Manipur Unit launch agitation in support with Manipur farmers.

Shiv Sena Manipur State unit condoled the incident of massive landslide occurred at Tupul, Noney in which many civilians and territorial army were injured and succumbed to injury.

The members of the party observed a condolence with a 2-minute silence at the party office in the morning.

Tombi said the main reason for massive landslide is due to the mass deforestation in the hilly regions of Manipur including improper installation of roadside drainage system along the national highways in Manipur.

The state government should take necessary steps for installation or construction of roadside drainage system along the national highways especially in the hilly regions of Manipur, he added.

A team of State Shiv sena will be visiting the landslide site to provide necessary assistance, Tombi said.
