Two NSCN(K-YA) insurgents lay down arms

Imphal: Somsai battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) persuaded the homecoming of two cadres of proscribed insurgent group NSCN(K-YA).
The cadres surrendered one .22 pistol, one .22 pen pistol and one .32 pistol along with ammunitions to Somsai battalion in presence of Manipur Police on Friday at Somsai, Ukhrul, the Assam Rifles said on Sunday.
Security forces compliment the cadres for this decision and wish that all those who have chosen the wrong path, join back into the mainstream and live a happy and peaceful life, it added.
