Union minister, MPs visit Tupul landslide site

Imphal: Union minister of state for education Subhas Sarkar, MP Lok Sabha Raju Bista and MP Rajya Sabha Leishemba Sanajaoba visited the landslide site at Tupul, Noney district on Sunday.

The visit was a part of the Union minister’s 4 days visit to Manipur.

He said the central government is highly concerned with the incident and due the reason Union minister of railway Ashwini Vaishnaw contacted the officials of state concerned immediately at around 8.15 am on the day itself of the incident occurred.

He said even Prime Minister, Narendra Modi tweets on the incident. The central government has been taking the issue seriously.

He appreciated the untiring effort of state police, army officials, including SDRF, NDRF and others in the rescue mission.

Apart from the human rescue team, dog squads and sensor machines are added to make the search rescue mission more effective, he added.

He prayed for speedy recovery who are undergoing treatment at hospital.

Raju Bista motivated the rescue team. He said the entire country is concerned with the incident.

The rescue mission might take some time and it will continue till all the missing persons are recovered, he added.
