NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu lands Imphal

Imphal: National Democratic Alliance’s presidential candidate, Droupadi Murmu conducted meeting with BJP MLAs and minister at Sangai hall of Hotel Imphal, here, on Tuesday.
Murmu arrived at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in a special flight at around 7 pm.
Chief minister N. Biren Singh, state BJP president A. Sharda Devi and other members of state BJP came to receive Murmu at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport. At the airport she received bouquet from the members of BJP Schedule Tribe Morcha. She failed to respond to any of the queries from media.
Chief Minister while coming to receive NDA’s presidential candidate, Droupadi Murmu, he said her visit to Imphal is related to the upcoming election for President of India. The state BJP have strong believe that she will become the next President of India.
During a programme conducted at Sangai hall, Hotel Imphal, state BJP president, A Sharda Devi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been taking various welfare measures to empower women including schedule tribe and caste people of the country. As a part of the empowering women, schedule tribe and caste people, NDA government decided Droupadi Murmu as presidential candidate, she added.
A closed door meeting was conducted with Murmu, Biren, state BJP MLAs and ministers including party leaders at Sangai Hall of Hotel Imphal.
Mumu was scheduled to leave Imphal in the same special flight on Tuesday late evening.
