NH-37 between Tupul and Namduanjang villages closed for all vehicles except those carrying emergency supplies

Imphal: Noney district deputy commissioner has issued travel restrictions along National Highway-37 between Tupul and Namduanjang villages as landslide rocks continue to fall on the highway.

“Continuous rock falls along the NH-37 between Tupul and Noney District Headquarter (near Namduanjang) has been occurring since last night; while NHIDCL has made all efforts to clear the accumulated debris, the rock falls continue periodically, thus posing danger to life and property for those vehicles plying along the NH-37 road,” the order issued by Noney deputy commissioner Haulianlal Guite said.

Given the uncertain road conditions, it is hereby ordered that NH-37 between Tupul and Namduanjang villages be closed for all heavy vehicles, all medical vehicles and all civilian vehicles except those carrying emergency supplies; Noney police shall give effect to this order and enforce it strictly in the interest of public order and safety, it added.
