12 bodies of Tupul landslide victims still missing

Imphal: Out of 79 victims of Tupul Maranging (Manipur) landslide 12 are still missing, says deputy commissioner of Noney Haulianlal Guite on Thursday.

Of 79 confirmed victims, 49 bodies have been recovered, 18 injured victims were recovered and 12 are still missing, the deputy commissioner said.

Body identification has become increasingly difficult due to tissue deterioration. Finding missing bodies is also increasingly difficult as our ability to trace them decreases with depth. Search and rescue operations will again continue at on Friday, he added.
