Biren will hand over ex-gratia to families of Churachandpur landslide victims on Monday

Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh will hand over ex-gratia to families of two persons deceased and financial assistance to persons injured in the Churachandpur landslide that occurred on Friday.

The ex-gratia and financial assistance will be handed over at the chief minister’s secretariat, here.

The incident occurred at NH150A where a Bollero Camper travelling to Tipaimukh was taken down to a cliff by a landslide.

In the incident, two passengers who have been identified as Buotsei, 48, and Lalnunzir, 40, were reported to have died on the spot and seven other passengers were seriously injured.

The chief minister expressed his anguish to hear about the incident and expressed his ‘heartfelt’ condolence to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.

“The government will extend a sum Rs 5 lakh as ex- gratia to the families of the deceased, Rs 50,000 to the seriously injured and Rs.10,000 to those with minor injuries,” the chief minister declared on Facebook.

He thanked all the villagers who have come out to help the victims.
