Khurai club boycotts 4 locals

Imphal: Khurai Social Youth Club (KSYC), a local club of Khurai Puthiaba Leikai, Imphal East, has indefinitely boycotted four accused persons from entering the locality till appropriate action is taken.

The club general secretary Laishram Indelio told reporters at the club’s office on Sunday that on Saturday at around 11 pm the four accused persons named as Th. Sommorendro, 59, Th. Bijoy, 48, Th. Ratan and Th. Rohit, 28, came to the resident of Thangjam Premchand, 45 of the same locality. The four accused equipped with weapons started attacking the family members of Premchand.

During the incident left index finger of Premchand received injury from a knife and another two family members of Premchand, Thangjam Kanon, 50 and Thangjam Ashananda, 26, were also brutally assaulted with the weapons, the secretary said.

To control the incident, some of the local club members rushed to the spot. Four of them threatened the club members not to interfere in the issue else they have to bear the consequences, he added.

The injured were taken to Shija Hospital for immediate treatment.

Indelio appealed the authority concerned to take necessary legal action against the four accused, and said the four person will be indefinitely boycotted from the locality till appropriate action is taken under law.

Indelio reported that the two family members might have some misunderstanding in the past.

A case has been registered at Porompat Police station by the victim family and it is reported that the four accused person has been picked up by a team of Porompat Police station.
