Security forces foil cross border smuggling in Manipur


Imphal: ​Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) along with Manipur Police foiled cross border narcotics smuggling in Tengnoupal on Friday.

​Based on specific input, troops of Assam Rifles and Tengnoupal Police station intercepted a vehicle coming from Moreh. On thorough checking of the vehicle, 13 packages containing WY tablets were recovered.

​The seized narcotics were assessed to be worth Rs 6.5 crore, the Assam Rifles said.

​The seized narcotics along with drug peddler were handed over to Tengnoupal Police station for further investigation, it added.
