Bomb explodes at RIMS director’s residence

Imphal:  A bomb suspected to be an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded at the residence of director Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) at Uripok Ahanthem Leikai, Imphal West at around 8.45 pm of Monday.

Police said the bomb was exploded at the residential pond of director RIMS, Ahanthem Shanta, 59, son of late A Brajamani.

The bomb might have been planted by some unknown miscreants to cause of death of human life and damage of property, a police report said. No blast causality has been reported.

In connection with the incident a suo-muto case has been registered at Imphal Police station.

Till the filing of this report no individual or group claim has has claimed responsible for the bomb blast.
