Physical classes for students below class VIII to close till August 7

Imphal: Manipur education (s) department on Friday issued order to continue closure of physical classes for students below class VIII till August 7, in view of the rising Covid-19 cases in the state.
The state government on July 12 issued order closure of school classes till July 24.
The government has re-assessed the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the state and the rate of vaccination of children twelve years of age and above. Children below twelve years of age continue to be more vulnerable to get infected by Covid-19 as they are yet to get vaccinated, the order said.
In view of the situation and as a precautionary measure for the health and safety of the children below twelve years of age, all schools (government/ government aided/ private/affiliated to CBSE, etc.) located in the ztate shall not conduct physical classes for children below twelve years of age i.e. upto Class VII and the school shall remain closed for these students till August 7 in public interest, the order said.
It was also ordered that Covid Appropriate Behaviour, Covid-19 SoP and Guidelines issued by the government from time to time shall be strictly observed by all concerned while conducting physical classes for Classes VIII and above which are allowed to be re-opened on July 25.
