Assam Rifles foils Cross border smuggling in Manipur

Imphal: ​Tengnoupal battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) foiled cross border smuggling of contrabands near Kwatha Nala Junction, Tengnoupal district on Sunday.

During a routine patrolling, the troops of Assam Rifles noticed some suspicious dump in the jungle near Kwatha Nala Junction.  On thorough search of the area several packages containing liquor, cigarettes, textile items, betel nuts were recovered. The recovered items were assessed to be worth Rs 7.99 lakh, the Assam Rifles said.

​The recovered contraband items were handed over to Customs department for further investigation, it added.
