Assam Rifles foils narcotics smuggling

Imphal: Keithelmanbi battalion under the aegis of IGAR(S) foiled narcotics smuggling in Irong Khunao, Thoubal district on Sunday.
In an effort to curb anti-social activities and containing influx of drugs in Lilong area, unit made an outreach to local CSOs. The incessant efforts led to Assam Rifles working in conjunction with CSO Kanglei Pana, Manipur Police and NCB and apprehending two drug smugglers in possession of 79 gm heroin, 30 WY tablets and addictive Appup syrup, the Assam Rifles.
The apprehended individuals along with narcotics amounting to around 50 lakh were handed over to Mayang Imphal Police station for further legal action.
