Two die of Covid-19, 87 more infected

Imphal: Manipur on Wednesday has a total of 615 Covid-19 active cases while as 87 were confirmed positive of the virus and 78 patients were recovered.
The death cases belonged to Imphal East and Imphal West. One of them had co-morbidities and both of them had 2nd dose of Covid vaccine. The cumulative number of deaths rose to 2128 in the state.
The fresh cases were confirmed as new COVID 19 positive cases at RIMS (16), JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (67).
They belonged to CAPF (1) Imphal East (13), Imphal West (43), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (2), Kangpokpi (3), Ukhrul (2), Senapati (2), Noney (1), Churachandpur (8) and Chandel (3).
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.
The positivity rate was 7.5 percent.
The recovered persons were discharged after completion of surveillance from Home Isolation (63), RIMS (4), JNIMS (8) and SHRI (3).
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,38,809. The recovery rate is 98.02 percent, the control room said.
