Assam Rifles recovers weapons

Imphal: Tengnoupal battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) along with 165 TA recovered War Like Stores near Sita, Tengnoupal district on Thursday.

Based on  speciific input about  movement of two suspicious individuals  an operation was launched  by the troops of Assam Rifles in area near Sita village. The suspicious individuals hurriedly fled away on seeing the troops, leaving behind a backpack containing two each of Number-36 and Chinese hand grenades, the Assam Rifles said on Friday.

The recovered war like stores were handed over to Tengnoupal Police station for further investigation, it added.
