70K Yaba tablets recovered in Manipur

Imphal: Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB), Manipur recovered about 70 thousand WY (World is Yours) Yaba tablets from a car near Manipur University gate, Canchipur, on Saturday.
As a part of War on drugs, NAB Manipur intensified surprise and random checking of suspected vehicles and persons at different locations.
During a surprise checking of some vehicles by a team of NAB police station, Manipur one individual–Henjakhup Kipgen, 26, son of Janglal Kipgen of T. Gamnom village, Saikul sub-division, Kangpokpi district was arrested with the recovery and seizure of seven packets containing about 70,000 suspected WY tablets and having total weight of 7.981 kg at Canchipur, near MU gate, Imphal West along NH-2 from inside a red Brezza car bearing registration number ML05V-0055, driven by him, a police report said.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the drugs were procured from Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh in Tengnoupal district and to deliver at Imphal for further trafficking to other states, it added.
A regular case has been registered with NAB Police station for investigation, it said.
